‘Home’: A Poem by Chloe Bayliss

Creative Collections

This week’s creative writing submission is from Chloe Bayliss, a first year student at the University of Hertfordshire studying History and Creative Writing.

Her short story ‘Home’ is inspired by December’s prompt and reflects on the current situation.

Home

When the world around us is falling apart,

With no end in sight

And no means to go on.

I look to the sky and imagine you there,

A calming presence in a world of despair.

When I am spinning in circles,

With no sign of hope.

I know there is a place,

A place I call home.
